Barrington Associates, Inc. (Logo and Identity System)

Kate Tallent Design (KTD) created the design of numerous projects for the esteemed Barrington Associates, Inc., a strategic communications firm in DC. These projects include an advertisement that supports the Energy Association of Pennsylvania, the trade association for Pennsylvania's publicly regulated electric and natural gas distribution companies. The ad commemorates the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Additionally, under the auspices of Barrington Associates, Inc., KTD updated the logo of the Delta Theta Sigma Foundation and created a new general brochure for this historical sorority, as well as a fundraising brochure.

The brochures aimed to increase awareness among African-American female leaders and motivate them to invest in the research the Delta Theta Sigma Foundation conducts and the programs it supports. KTD is proud to have the opportunity to contribute to the identity of the Delta Theta Sigma Foundation.

Ashoka (Web Site Design)

Kate Tallent Design (KTD) redesigned the Ashoka web site. In March 2006, Ashoka sought KTD out to transform its site, which was outdated and was not managed consistently.

The large-scale project of more than 1,400 pages resulted in an improved web site whose new look and improved experience would appeal to a varied audience: partner organizations, potential donors, job seekers, media, international audiences and social entrepreneurs. In addition, Toronto-based Co-op Tools created the Drupal Content Management System to allow Ashoka to update text and images.

KTD is proud to work with Ashoka, which is a global community of leading social entrepreneurs — people with innovative, practical ideas for addressing social needs.

Since its founding in 1980, Ashoka has launched more than 1,700 social entrepreneurs serving 70 countries. Ashoka's modest investments consistently yield extraordinary returns in national and international advancement in education, health, human rights, the environment, economic development and other areas of social concern.

Working with these social entrepreneurs, Ashoka builds communities of innovators who collaborate to transform society and design new ways for the citizen sector to become more productive, entrepreneurial and globally integrated.

Smart Payroll Solutions LLC (Web Site Design)

KTD designed a new web site and developed a Content Management System for Smart Payroll Solutions LLC, which offers a powerful tool for business growth to Florida companies seeking Professional Employer Organization (PEO) services.

KTD reviewed the new site's content with the client and developed an information architecture that mapped the site. KTD then translated the information architecture into a beautiful web site design. The site allows clients to log into a secure area to view links, documents and other resources, input employee hours on a timesheet and fill out worker's compensation forms.

The site also has a contact-us form to allow SPS to collect inquiries and leads, and store them in a back-end database. The site's Content Management System allows the client to easily update text and graphical content for all pages on the site without requiring knowledge of HTML or FTP technologies.

Client is located in Florida.

Breakthrough Strategies (Email Campaign)

Kate Tallent Design (KTD) developed a fundraising email design for DC-based company Breakthrough Strategies for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The email was to create awareness of used and abused animals in the entertainment industry, animals who show up in movies and on TV shows and commercials.
The email let the public know it’s time to stop the abuse, neglect and disrespect of animals that occurs for the sake of entertainment, and to inform recipients that animals often find their silly tricks confusing, nonsensical, frightening and downright dangerous. Recipients of the email were able to click on links to donate.
PETA is the leading advocate to ensure these animals are treated with the compassion and understanding they deserve. KTD is proud to be working for Breakthrough Strategies to support PETA.
